My late brother had this piece in his studio. I have no information on it.

Not fossil

Sorry to disappoint you, but this is not a fossil bone. Although without seeing it up close, I cannot say for sure, it looks like a concretion, formed by preferential cementation within the sediment, or alternatively, the redish exterior is a sort of cortex formed by weathering of the grey mass. Either way, I fear it has no organic origin.
